Established in 1965, Penn State Shenango is a student-centered campus located on 13 acres set in downtown Sharon, Pennsylvania. It is the only urban campus among the Penn State Commonwealth campuses. Job Responsibilities:

Coordinate all aspects and execution of athletic and recreational programs.

Oversee athletic department staffing; game and practice schedules; and in conjunction with multiple departments on campus.

Coordinate, implement, and oversee all student-athlete success and retention processes including athletic study tables, academic advising, career counseling and placement; student housing and transportation, and student meal plans.

The candidate will work closely with athletic department personnel, admissions, marketing, and others to create, manage and review new marketing and social media content, ensuring all external sports information functions are high quality.
- Will also work collaboratively with the Sports Information Director to ensure all team content, photos, stats, and other social media initiatives are accurate and socialized properly.
- The Athletic Director will oversee the planning and execution of all varsity sports, including recruitment, coaching, team travel, fundraising, outreach, lodging, meals, etc.
- Providing oversight, delivery, and development of relevant summer camps and clinics.

Assisting with recruiting and retention of all student-athletes.

Ensuring facility user agreements and related processes for access, record keeping, and providing reports on usage and service needs to ensure quality and equipment are meeting unit standards.

Supervising facility operations related to employees and programming offered.

Monitor and report on facility safety concerns as needed; and responsible for monitoring and approving budget expenses, including equipment needs, and developing proposals for funding and equipment.

Articulate and develop unit work and athlete support needs in collaboration with the other campus stakeholders.
Education & Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher.

Two plus years of related experience.

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a college-level athletics department is strongly preferred.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, and develop student-athletes; must possess a commitment to high academic standards, and the PSUAC and USCAA philosophies.

A successful candidate will have a reputation for integrity and demonstrate and foster a positive attitude.

Engagement working with college students is preferred as well as experience serving diverse populations including first-generation students.

Practice positive and creative approaches to problem-solving issues facing the department, and evaluate and recommend changes and/or improvements to increase the quality of processes, procedures, and policies of the athletics program.

Experience with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Hootesuite, photography, and videography preferred.
- Must be able to multitask and have strong time management and organizational skills.
- Position requires working some evenings and weekends.
