Pepsi MidAmerica is currently searching for a Fleet Manager to oversee the management and operations of our company's fleet department. (This Position will start as a "Manager In Training" Position)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies to ensure the smooth operation of the company's department.
- Oversee and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, equipment, and machinery to ensure fleet readiness and minimize downtime.
- Manage the acquisition and disposal of fleet assets, including negotiating contracts, evaluating vendors, and ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Monitor and analyze fleet utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs to identify areas of improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external suppliers, vendors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with various departments within the organization to ensure that fleet operations align with business objectives and requirements.
- Develop and implement fleet safety programs and policies to promote safe driving practices, reduce accidents, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage and lead a team of fleet supervisors, mechanics, and administrative staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality performance.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, technological developments, and regulatory changes related to fleet management to recommend and implement best practices and innovations.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on fleet performance, budget utilization, and key performance indicators for senior management and executive department.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. (Relevant experience may be substituted)
- Proven experience in fleet management.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle operations, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with relevant fleet management software and technologies.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Good computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and fleet management software.
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and contract negotiation.
