CANDIDATES MUST LIVE IN THE WASHINGTON DC AREA.
The Senior Applications Engineer position plays an important role in support, enhancement, & integration of the ServiceNow enterprise platform.
Although this position does not require supervisory functions, this candidate will be required to play an important tech lead role within the team.
The Senior ServiceNow Engineer will:
- Designs & builds integrations with various systems (especially using Integration Hub);
- Develops code per best practices of ServiceNow for enhancements;
- Ensures the platform adheres to corporate Security Policy as well as ISO 27001/2 requirements;
- Installs & maintains ServiceNow patches up to date;
- Learns the corporate ITSM processes to address Change Requests, Incidents, Problems, etc.;
- Manages the users, groups, & their specific access to the platform;
- Mentors the technical resources within the SMS team;
- Monitors the MID Servers to ensure adequate uptime & accurate configuration;
- Plans & upgrades ServiceNow twice annually;
- Supports the ServiceNow platform as the most senior technical lead;
- Utilizes the Agile Development application for code development; and
- Works as a team with the Service Management Systems team & stakeholders.
Proficiencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Full understanding of ServiceNow best practices in coding, workflows, etc.;
- Knowledge of ITIL & ITSM is preferred;
- Knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB best practices is highly desired including Common Services Data Model (CSDM), Discovery (Automated Horizontal Discovery), & Service Mapping (Automated Vertical Discovery); and
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work with diverse groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in ITSM, ITOM modules;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT Operations working with a variety of IT teams;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in ServiceNow platform;
- Previous experience supporting CMDB and CSDM;
- ServiceNow HAM Pro & SAM Pro preferred;
- ServiceNow System Admin Basic Certification. Must be current & active
