Job Title : Outfitting Manufacturing Engineer Location : Netherlands Salary : To be discussed in the Interview Vacancy Type : Full-Time Closing date for applications : End Dec 2024 Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required : Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. 1-10 years of experience in outfitting engineering or a similar role within the shipbuilding or maritime industry. Strong knowledge of shipbuilding processes and the integration of systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and interior furnishings. Location Requirement : Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands. Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken). Beneficial requirements : Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for outfitting design and planning. Ability to work under pressure with strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and maintain project schedules. Duties and responsibilities : Outfitting Design and Planning : Collaborate with design teams to plan and oversee the outfitting of ship systems and components, ensuring they are installed correctly and efficiently, meeting industry standards. Manufacturing Process Optimization : Develop and implement processes for the efficient manufacture and installation of outfitting components, including interiors, electrical systems, HVAC, and plumbing, to meet timelines and budget. Quality Control and Compliance : Ensure that outfitting procedures comply with all quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols during fabrication and installation phases. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving : Identify and resolve issues during the outfitting process, working closely with production teams to overcome technical challenges and ensure smooth integration of systems. Collaboration and Coordination : Work with cross-functional teams, including naval architects, production teams, and suppliers, to ensure that all outfitting activities are properly coordinated and executed according to project specifications.
