We currently have a career opportunity for a Project Accountant to join our team. This role is based at our corporate office in St. Louis and requires a hybrid schedule (2 days a week in office).
The Project Accountant is a key member of the Business Operations & Finance team supporting Perficient’s revenue recognition processes ensuring compliance with internal policy and external reporting requirements. This position is fully responsible for the project set up process and revenue recognition of all project work. This may include responding to client inquiries, verifying employee’s chargeable time, reviewing customer agreements to ensure projects are set up in accordance with the established accounting standards and billing policy. This role has hands-on daily interaction with management across the company.
Responsibilities
The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $52,050-71,500. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs. Responsibilities
- Communicates effectively with Sellers and Project Managers regarding contract documents, resource assignments, change orders, and approvals.
- Sets up projects accurately and timely so that revenue recognition is appropriate and ensures internal controls are met.
- Calculates and posts revenue adjustments accurately and timely.
- Assists Accounts Receivables Team with invoice issue resolution as needed.
- Acts as the subject matter expert for project set up and revenue recognition.
- Provides project level operational and financial reporting and analysis as needed.
- Prepares timely and accurate invoices including any with necessary adjustments
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field, OR 5 years related work experience.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
- Experience in project accounting in a service industry a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel pivot tables, tables, charts and formulas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders
- Strong initiative and desire to excel.
- Strong service orientation.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
- Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
- Knowledge of Oracle Fusion and Salesforce a plus.
