Summary Objective
Person County Government is recruiting for a part-time Scorekeeper for the Recreation, Arts and Parks Department. The person in this position is responsible for keeping a legible scorebook and making sure both the scorebook and clock are accurate.

This is a non-exempt position. Part-time employees cannot work more than 1000 hours per calendar year.
Must be able to work at all parks and recreation locations which may include Huck Sansbury, Longhurst, Olive Hill, Allensville, Hurdle Mills and Helena. Night and weekend work will be required and must be able to work odd hours and schedules.
Essential Functions
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Arrive at the assigned site thirty minutes prior to start of game in order to prepare appropriate equipment. (Bleachers, clock, goals, etc.)
- Ensure playing facilities are clean before and after each game. This includes sweeping the gym floor, cleaning and furnishing bathrooms, parking lots, etc.
- Ensure all equipment is locked after games.
- Responsible for remaining at the assigned site until all responsibilities are completed.
- Keep legible and accurate scorebook.
- Report to the supervisor any problems you may encounter.
- Responsible for working at all parks and recreation locations which may include Huck Sansbury, Longhurst, Olive Hill, Allensville, Hurdle Mills and Helena.
- Must be able to work night and weekend schedules as assigned.
- Ability to follow dress policy to maintain professionalism at all games.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Knowledge of relevant rules of sports at which you will be keeping score or operating the clock.
