Our niche in the music industry is designing and manufacturing electronic control systems for pipe organs. A control system for a pipe organ is the mechanism that manages how the organist’s key presses, pedal movements, and stop selections control the flow of air to the pipes, ultimately producing sound. These systems can be quite complex depending on their scale and no two systems are alike.
Currently, we have an entry-level opening in our Systems Department and we’re seeking a Customer Support Specialist who enjoys challenges and will want to grow within our company to eventually master our product line offerings. Primary Responsibilities:
- Gather information from customers on the phone to assist higher-level Peterson technicians troubleshoot control system issues
- Enter quotes and learn our methodology on how to build a project file before it is released to the production floor
- Learn a variety of control systems and be able to recognize their differences and benefits
- Study signal flow via flow charts and block diagrams
- Create troubleshooting logs based on handled calls to create a reference library for future use
Required Skills/Traits/Education:
- Excellent phone skills and positive attitude – able to operate in stressful situations
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Basic understanding of electronics is required (transistor/diode operation)
- Self-starter; ability to run with a task through completion
- Familiarity with computers (mainly Windows-based)
- Musical background is a big plus
On-the-job training will be provided. This position offers a 40-hour work week Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:20 PM. Competitive pay and full benefits including health, life & dental insurance, sick pay, vacation, and 401K are provided.
