Foster Care Caseworker
Professional Family Care Services, Inc., is looking for individuals who have a desire to help children and families in need, at risk or in crisis. Through meaningful and effective relationships we support families and children in our Foster Care and Adoption programs. Through regular, ongoing contact with children, families and other professionals we strive to assure the safety, permanency and well-being of children. We also support the success and well-being of our staff by training and supporting each person in a family-friendly environment with a flexible schedule.
PFCS is a child and family service provider agency located in Johnstown, PA. We serve multiple surrounding counties including but not limited to: Armstrong, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Centre, Clearfield, Elk, Fayette, Indiana, Jefferson, Somerset and Westmoreland. Company vehicles are available to use for the required travel. The candidate must be willing and able to drive long distances and travel in a variety of weather situations.
Following our practice guides, the caseworker will conduct regular in-home visits with children and families assessing the child’s needs and safety in compliance with all pertinent PA Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations and our policies and procedures. Following the visits, timely detailed reports will be written for our files and the referring agency. Caseworkers will accept on-call and in-day duties on a rotating basis and provide emergency services as required. In addition, he/she will receive mandated training hours on an annual basis as outlined in DHS regulations.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate competencies such as interpersonal skills, oral and written communication, planning and organization, judgement, ethics, professionalism, punctuality and dependability.
The salary range is $30,575.00 - $33,575.00. Starting salary will be based on experience. In addition, we offer our employees benefits including:

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to human services (we will consider applicants with a 2-year degree plus experience)
- One year of successful experience in social services with children
- Documentation that there is no existing record on the PA Child Abuse History Clearance report (CY-113)
- Documentation that there is no existing record on the PA State Police Criminal Record Check report
- Documentation that there is no existing record on the FBI Record Check report
- Must possess a valid PA driver’s license
