Job Overview:
PFG Customized Distribution is seeking an entry-level truck driver to join our team. As a Driver Trainee, you will learn the skills necessary to operate tractor trailers and assist in food delivery to customers across the country.
About the Role:
- You will be responsible for completing daily safety checks and managing delivery documentation.
- You will work closely with experienced drivers to learn the ins and outs of the job and gain valuable industry experience.
- You will interact professionally with customers and colleagues, providing excellent service and ensuring timely deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully complete the Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program.
- Ride with and assist driver trainers in executing deliveries.
- Perform all required safety checks, including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
- Complete in an accurate and legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight.
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.
- Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas.
Requirements:
- A valid CDL permit.
- The ability to attain a DOT Health Card.
- A clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
