What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Attorney position at PharmaCord?
When you join the team as the Corporate Attorney, you will have the opportunity to apply sound, principled and consistent judgement in a fast moving, challenging legal business environment. You will also have the ability to analyze and effectively communicate with clients both internally and externally.
A typical day in the life of a Corporate Attorney will include the following:
Directing, coordinating and/or conducting end-to-end contracts, correspondence and legal documents ensuring a thorough objective and legally compliant process.
- Inquire into potential legal investigations thru the monitoring of healthcare legislation and compliance topics (i.e. anti-kick back, privacy)
- Have knowledge of employment law to provide advice and counsel in a broad range of employment/human resource issues.
- Ability to timely and effectively counsel internal clients by providing them with clear, concise and practical advice and creative solutions.
- Be a highly organized self-starter proficient in multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Prepare for and attend compliance audits with the help of senior attorneys and audit group.
Requirements:
- Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
- Successful completion of the bar exam with licensure in Kentucky or Indiana
- 2 years’ experience in a corporate setting is preferred with emphasis in healthcare/employment law a definite plus
- Excellent communication skills oral and written required
- Demonstrated passion for serving internal customers This is an office-based position, the ability to sit for extended periods of time is necessary
- Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred
- We are located in the River Ridge Commerce Center at 150 Hilton Drive, Jeffersonville, IN. You must be willing to work in this location; PharmaCord does reimburse for tolls if applicable, at the frequent user rate. This rate is applied after 40 trips per month (valued at $678.60 per year)
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
