Customer Affairs Economics & Statistics Intern
Responsibilities
Research Projects
- Assist Senior data analyst in modeling Low Income customer data
- Analyze pilot campaign/case study data and derive actionable results
- Support research on existing studies on Low Income customer behavior and PGW’s current programs
Data Analysis
- Utilize data visualization tool, internal customer, government provided, and public data to aid project analysis
- Help guide data collection parameters using PGW historical campaigns
- Review old and unused dashboards and seek to understand them to improve/condense them
- Critically analyze current practices and use data to suggest areas of improvement
- Conduct individually guided analysis on customer behavior, grant metrics, and/or policy improvement
- Map and organize data sheets through use of Excel
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Economics, Statistics, Math, Data Science or other related field of study
- Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work well as a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Introductory knowledge of statistics
- Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to develop creative solutions to delicate issues
- Financial or Economics experience is a plus
