Under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Yard Crew Laborer will perform various physical tasks involving general labor while working independently and with other personnel to support the operation of the refinery. Some of the work may be located near or around hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Typical working conditions include: outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and in confined spaces. The Yard Crew Laborer must follow safe work practices including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities may include:
Performing Maintenance craft helper tasks
Performing fire and entry/hole watch duties
Completing housekeeping/clean-up tasks
Performing grounds keeping/grounds maintenance
Operating forklift
Transporting materials (material runner to/from job site)
Performing Insulator/painter duties
Performing minor carpentry and/or civil work
Performing general labor (setup/tear down, etc.)
Upholding company values, understanding and implementing all relevant company policies and procedures to ensure all work meets the required standard
Monitoring and observing assigned area for abnormal conditions and emergency situations
Participating in employee safety programs
Sharing knowledge, skills, and expertise to facilitate a high performing organization
Required Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Maintain a valid driver's license
2 or more years of experience in a related role in refineries and/or chemical plants
Currently hold or be able to qualify to receive a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card prior to employment start date. Note: information regarding TWIC qualification standards may be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic
Must be willing and able, with or without accommodation, to perform/comply with the following:
Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment
Maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)Maintain face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly
Work overtime (including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts) and respond to after-hours callouts
Climb, bend, lift, and perform a wide variety of physical activities
Work in enclosed spaces such as tanks and silos
Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines
Work at elevated heights
Work around chemicals, including acids and bases
Work outside in any given weather condition
Preferred Qualifications:
4 or more years of experience in a related role in refineries and/or chemical plants
Experience with refinery turnarounds and/or shutdown work
Proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP applications
Military training/experience

Compensation
The starting hourly contract rate for this position is $24.60. Future pay increases will be based on the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This position is eligible for the Phillips 66 geographic differential pay program. Details and terms to be conveyed in offer of employment.
