We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our family owned manufacturing facility in Bamberg, SC.
Basic Job Duties:
Responsible for purchasing consumable foods, raw materials, and services per organization's specifications and standards.
Review purchase requisitions, request quotes, and create purchase orders.
Negotiate with vendors to obtain best pricing and delivery.
Allocate raw material per work order.
Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by following all safety rules and regulations.
General housekeeping duties.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills / Knowledge Required:
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal relationship skills
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
Must possess proficient computer skills (Microsoft office, Adobe, and Visual Manufacturing)
Must be extremely detail oriented, analytical, organized, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
Must possess exceptional organizational skills
Knowledge of Kanban system
Knowledge of Raw Materials is a plus
Ability to Interpret Material Specifications
Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, work environment
Experience Desired:
Three years experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment
Education Desired:
High School Diploma/GED
