Job Description
Title: CNC Programmer / Machinist
Reports to: Tool and Die Supervisor
Job Purpose: Program, qualify, and produce machined parts using CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Wire EDM machines, and manual milling and grinding equipment.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Create, save and maintain CNC programs using MasterCAM software from Auto-Cad or step files.
- Create, save, and maintain working drawings and files.
- Set up one-off and/or production jobs to run for self and others.
- Maintain quality standards and tolerances.
- Keep records as directed in work orders for time and materials.
- Maintain equipment per OEM and PSG requirements.
- Maintain supplies.
- Set up and operate standard milling machine, lathe, drill press, grinder and other machine tools as directed under general supervision.
- Work directly with engineering to design and manufacture tooling, fixtures, and production parts.
- Follow all OSHA and internal safety standards.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years minimum verifiable machinist experience and/or Technical Diploma.
- Ability to program, qualify, and run CNC equipment.
- Ability to perform standard shop computations (math).
- Ability to read schematics (blue prints), engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment.
- Ability to utilize heat treat equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments as well as work within a team environment.
