General Accountant

Position Summary:

Multi-National Manufacturing Company is currently seeking an experienced General Accountant at our facility in Bowling Green, OH. A 4-year degree in accounting is preferred; however, candidates with experience in place of education will be considered. Candidates with Salesforce or SAP experience may be given priority. Reporting to the controller, the General Accountant is responsible for preparing cash flow analysis, monthly managerial reports, account reconciliations, and journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly account reconciliations, to include (but not be limited to): cash, accounts receivable, miscellaneous payables, spare parts, CIP, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
• Participate in month-end closing, inventory physical count, including calculations and journal entries, ensuring financial records are accurate.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Participate in the annual budget process.
• Prepare capital and fixed asset transactions, including additions, depreciation, disposals, and impairments.
• Accurately record new capital leases and prepare amortization schedules.
• Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the budget and management authorizations.
• Prepare reports for the monthly management meetings. Must be able to analyze and explain the results.
• Assist the Controller in preparation of yearly budget and monitor monthly activity.
• Prepare, submit, and process tax reports and payments.
• Support quarterly internal and annual external audit requests.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external partners.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance required.
• At least 3 years’ experience in an accounting role required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel; Experience with ERP preferred.
• Ability to work well with a team and to work overtime during certain times of the year.
• Travel as required.
• Experience in the Manufacturing industry.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to navigate through complex and difficult managerial situations.
• Presentation and analytical skills, and an ability to effectively interpret, summarize and forecast business activity and the financial position of the company.
• An ability to shape everlasting relationships with employees, senior leadership, and customers.
• Eagerness to solve problems.
• Communicate with diverse cultures verbally and in writing.
