Note: This role is a hybrid position with scheduled days in the office. Office is located in Glenmont, N.Y. (Capital Region). All applicants must be comfortable commuting to and working in a traditional office environment several days per week, with the option to work at home part time. There is a mandatory in-house training period
General Summary
Our association management organization seeks a talented industry resource representative to provide excellent customer service by responding to member requests for information available within the Industry Resource Center. The main goal of this role is to develop and manage the activities of those services which link PIA members with one another or other business entities for business opportunities, screen and respond to members’ technical inquiries with a focus on personal lines, workers’ compensation, life/health, and automobile assigned risk plans.
The ideal candidate is exceptionally well-organized with writing and proofreading skills and understands the importance of tight deadlines. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and acutely attentive to detail. Must work well in a team environment and be able to multi-task.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Provide excellent customer service while serving on a rotating basis to receive incoming calls and chatline requests and respond appropriately.
- High volume of proofreading of professional resources.
- Draft insurance industry-related articles, resource materials, and other business-related communications.
- Maintain and update resource databases as assigned.
- Review trade publications for pertinent information and follow-up.
- Assist in the development of the department’s quarterly newsletter.
- Handle internal subscriptions and other resource ordering as necessary.
- Track and maintain company information.
Job Requirements
- To have a CIC designation and/or working to obtain the designation is required.
- Four-year degree and/or comparable years of experience as an insurance professional.
- Property/casualty and/or life/health license is preferrable but not necessary.
- Maintain strong working skills in Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, Excel, and other software programs, in addition to excellent typing abilities.
- Strong proofreading skills with an eye to AP style.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational abilities; must be capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and colleagues in a professional manner.
- Being a team player is essential.
Salary Range - $50,000 - $55,000 Annual
