What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUSHI CHEF position at pier 215?
o Slice fish and seafood in certain angles and have the right size.
o Prepare rice, measure and execute recipes.
o Maintain menu knowledge and attention to detail plate presentation.
o Ensure that guests are having a pleasurable experience, excited, and satisfied.
o Ensure all products are rotating on a first in first out philosophy.
o Properly label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
o Maintain production list to ensure efficient execution of service.
o Maintain a high level professionalism by exhibiting the art of excellence philosophy.
o Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
o Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
o Requisition the day’s supplies and ensure that they are received and stored correctly.
o Minimize waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food and labor costs.
Required:
o At least 2 years of experience as a Sushi Cook or a similar position.
o Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
o Working knowledge of Japanese seafood techniques.
o Working knowledge of health and safety procedures.
o Excellent customer service skills.
o Professional appearance and demeanor.
o Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
o High school diploma or equivalent.
o Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
