What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Golf Professional-Don Padgett Learning Center-Exempt position at Pinehurst Resort?
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to provide management to all aspects of the Golf Operation for Pinehurst Courses No.1 thru No.5. This position will also oversee the outside operations staff for the practice facilities that consists of the short game areas and the driving range (Maniac Hill) that has multiple tee decks for Resort Guests, Members, & the Golf Academy.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of two years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a Class A Member of the PGA or in the process of acquiring credentials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist in managing and supervising the day to day operation of the following areas : Front Door, Club Storage, Golf Cars, Golf Registration, Locker Room, Starters Rangers, & Practice Facilities.
- Have a strong working knowledge of in house systems such as Agilysys Golf / V1, Trackman, JC Video, Golf Genius, and Ceridian Dayforce.
- Have a strong knowledge in club repair, club fitting, and golf instruction.
- Assist with scheduling private and group lessons.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of Maniac Hill setup. Ensuring a world class experience is provided daily.
- Provide overall day to day management of the driving range staff. Making weekly schedules as well as ensuring all operating procedures are met.
- Fiscal responsibilities of the area within golf operation that they manage to including revenues, payroll, forecasting, in accordance to financial practices of the Company.
- Interface with Employees, Members and Guests on a regular basis.
- Ensure guest issues and concerns from Members and Guests are promptly handled and followed up with accordingly.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of the Member and Group Tournaments are executed in a professional manner to meet and exceed the Members and Guest expectations.
- Work closely with Yield / Tee Time Office to ensure appropriate communication and coordination between Tee Time Office, Golf Group Services, and Golf Shop Registration.
- Assist the Resort Head Golf Pro and and 1st Assistant Golf Pro as directed.
- Maintain Class A certification or continue enrollment with the PGA of America program.
- Must be aware of surroundings with an understanding of a golf environment. Must have the ability to see and react to the surroundings including errant golf balls and must understand and follow proper golf etiquette while completing tasks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of specified Employees within Golf Operations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; scheduling, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
