Job Summary: As the Landscape Crew Leader, you will be responsible for leading a crew of 1-2 people, to complete landscape projects, from start to finish. You will manage both softscape and hardscape installations and maintenance, ensuring high-quality work, client satisfaction, and team efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for landscaping and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and supervise a crew of 1-2 individuals to complete landscape projects on time and to a high standard.
- Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients on-site, ensuring satisfaction and clear communication throughout the project.
- Job Planning & Execution: Assist with project planning and provide guidance to your crew. Ensure work is done efficiently, safely, and according to the client’s specifications.
- Project Scope: Manage projects that include plantings, full property installs, hardscape installations, and ongoing landscape maintenance (no mowing).
- Performance & Goal Evaluation: Monitor crew performance, provide constructive feedback, and help meet goals set by upper management.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times, ensuring all tools, equipment, and machinery are properly used and maintained.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to improve operations, efficiency, and business practices while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience in Hardscape and Landscape Construction.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead a small team, motivate others, and ensure work is completed efficiently and to high standards.
- Reliability: Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work 40-50 hours per week and perform physical tasks associated with landscaping and hardscaping.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with clients, your crew, and upper management. Ability to clearly convey project needs, timelines, and expectations.
- Licenses: Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
- Proactive Attitude: A strong willingness to learn, grow, and take on new tasks.
- Professionalism: A commitment to professionalism in your work and interactions with clients and colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure quality and precision in every project.
