Profile of the Inclusion Facilitator
Pinkerton Academy’s Inclusion Facilitator’s most important role is to provide support to students with significant inclusion needs. The Inclusion Facilitator will facilitate the implementation of accommodations, modifications, and instruction to identified students. This can be through direct work with students or in consultation with specialists, teachers, and paraeducators. The Inclusion Facilitator will have a strong working knowledge of special education laws and regulations, service delivery models, and specialized instruction.
The Inclusion Facilitator is a key member of the Special Education Leadership Team who embodies the collaborative approach to support students with research-based strategies, student-specific, and compassionate. The Inclusion Facilitator will serve as the supervisor to our paraprofessional team through hiring, training, and scheduling. In addition, The Inclusion Facilitator supports the varying needs of the department, whether in the classroom, office, or meeting setting.

Essential Roles of the Inclusion Facilitator
Leadership and Supervision
Inclusion
- Provides support to students with significant inclusion needs and staff supporting them.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers on accommodations and modifications and assist when needed.
- Presents professional learning on curriculum modification and/or relevant topics for content area teachers and paraeducators.
- Conducts student observations when needed (including 8th grade).
- Attends special education meetings when appropriate.
- Coordinates specialist appointments with students and programs (time, location, etc).
- Assists with the acquiring, implementation, and monitoring of specific equipment required for students to access the curriculum (visual supports, classroom hearing equipment, etc).
- Supervision
- Participates in paraeducator interviews and hiring.
- Prepares and conducts orientation training for all new paraeducators.
- Prepare para schedule and monitor call-outs and substitutions/changes for the day.
- Reviews paraeducator timecards and time off requests.
- Provides general supervision of paraeducator performance and follows Pinkerton Academy’s progressive discipline.
- Completes evaluations for paraeducators.
- Classroom
- Teaches special education classes when needed (Academic Skills, co-teach exploration classes, etc). Could vary in number each year.
- Carries a small caseload of identified students.
- Medicaid
- Works with LEAs and business offices to collaborate regarding Medicaid to-school reimbursement.
- Sets up Medicaid supervision and tracks attendance/facilitates proper procedures for Medicaid reimbursement.
- Trains new staff on tracking service logs.

- Conducts academic achievement evaluations or classroom observations when needed.
- Facilitates special education meetings as a backup.
