What Youll Do in This Role
As a Purchasing Agent , you will play a key role in managing the companys procurement activities, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities :
Evaluate bid proposals and manage purchase orders. Handle all aspects of procurement, including specifications, bid analysis, and invoice auditing. Issue purchase orders, contracts, and change orders while maintaining cost control. Organize logistics schedules to meet production needs and manage inventory records. Maintain strong vendor relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Monitor market trends to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply. Lead or direct the work of others as needed. Perform additional tasks as assigned. What Were Looking For :
Skills and Abilities :
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. High level of systems knowledge and adaptability. Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality. Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED with at least 7 years of purchasing experience (or equivalent education and experience). Valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Proven, reliable work history. Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelors Degree is a plus. Experience with JD Edwards software is highly desirable. Physical Requirements :
Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with occasional need to lift up to 20 lbs. Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, including working on uneven surfaces or using ladders.
