Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Piper Life Sciences is actively seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join a pharmaceutical manufacturing and chemical processing organization that develops innovative therapies and cutting-edge technologies for patients with severe and critical conditions in Raleigh, North Carolina (NC). The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will join the EHS team to create strategic and proactive solutions contributing to the overall heath and safety of the plant and it's members. This is a Monday-Friday role from 8-4:30 PM, located on-site in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities of the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist include:

• Help create, revise, and improve EHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
• Oversee the EHS data management system on a daily basis
• Ensure safety compliance amongst regulatory guidelines and procedures
• Provide guidance when equipment installation occurs
• Work cross functionally between different departments to identify and remedy safety concerns
• Conduct industrial hygiene assessments though out the facility
• Serve as an active member of the Emergency Response Team
  
  

Qualifications for the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist include:

• 3 years' experience in environmental health and safety
• Experience in an industrial production environment
• PSM experience
• Automation/controls experience in an industrial environment or pharmaceutical environment
• B.S. in a Science, Engineering, or related discipline
• Chemical Engineering degree or Environmental Engineering background preferred
  
  

Compensation for the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist:

• Compensation: $75,000-$85,000 2.5% bonus
• Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Holidays, and sick leave if required by law
