Provides complex administrative support to the Department. Manages calendars, and appointments, prepares various documents, and maintains filing systems.
Provides high level administrative support; serves as office liaison and performs outreach to other departments and the community; manages calendars, schedules meetings, and organizes special events.
Drafts and edits correspondence, reports, and other materials and distributes accordingly.
Responds to questions regarding interpretation of office and County policies and procedures; responds to public and media inquiries and complaints.
Develops and implements office systems and procedures to ensure efficiency and communication within the Department.
Manage assigned Web pages; update content on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, including updating staff roster, contact information, documents, project status, photos, calendars, etc.; troubleshoot Web related problems, escalate and coordinate the resolution of difficult system issues with vendors or information technology staff.
Supports the relationship between Pitkin County government and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
This position follows a sequence:
Level I:
Up to 1 year of administrative support experience.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
Level II (in addition to Level I):
1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support.
1-2 years of project management experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Level III (in addition to Level II):
3 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support.
2 years of experience providing complex administrative support and/or supervising other administrative staff.
Knowledge Of:
County policies and procedures.
State and federal laws and regulations governing work performed.
Record keeping and records management rules and standards.
Skill In:
Application of governing rules and regulations.
Handling multiple tasks simultaneously, under pressure, and in emergency and stressful situations.
Interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
Following and effectively communicating verbal and written instructions.
Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers and other regional agencies.
Utilizing standard personal computer software programs and specialized State and County software.
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

Salary : $51,272 - $89,731
