What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Safety Information Technology (IT) Analyst position at Pitkin County?
Provide application and desktop support for CJIS systems and associated technology to support optimal performance and timely issue resolution.
Manage and maintain databases and develop reports to support public safety operations.
Administer and monitor cloud-based solutions and integrations, identify and resolve network issues, and perform regular system backups and disaster recovery options to meet public and data safety standards and requirements.
Documents technical processes, configurations and troubleshooting steps for training. Trains staff on new technologies and software updates.Ensure all systems comply with relevant legal and regulatory standards, particularly those pertaining to CJIS security policies.
Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems essential for 911 operations, and collaborates with other IT team members to implement or enhance IT systems.
Supports the relationship between Pitkin County government and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a public safety or similar critical environment, with significant experience in PC Windows/desktop support.
Strong knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) databases, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reporting, and experience with VMware vSphere environments required.
Familiarity with public safety systems such as CAD, LRMS, FRMS, and mobile corrections platforms required.
Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Windows desktop environments.
Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) preferred.
Experience with cloud technologies and their integration into existing IT infrastructures.
Understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library ( ITIL) frameworks and public safety IT best practices preferred.
