Duties
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including triage for urgent care situations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the telemetry unit.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and hospital medicine practices.
- Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) coding for patient assessments.
- Strong triage skills to effectively prioritize patient care needs.
- Experience in pediatrics is a plus, enhancing the ability to care for younger patients.
- Knowledge of infection control standards to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Ability to perform esthetic laser treatments as needed within the scope of practice.
- Competency in urgent care procedures, ensuring timely interventions for critical situations.
- Skills in ventilating patients when necessary, providing essential respiratory support.
