Responsibilities
The HR Operations, Payroll and Benefits Associate will support the Global HR Operations team to ensure PJT meets its compliance obligations while delivering pay accurately and on time, in partnership with our payroll agents in the US. They will also provide support in overseeing and administrating various employee benefits. Responsibilities will include:
- Coordination with third party payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing of semi-monthly and monthly payroll;
- Coordination with Compensation and Equity teams to ensure accurate payroll processing of RSUs, dividends, year end bonus;
- Coordination with Tax team to ensure accurate compensation reporting on Form K-1s;
- Coordination with International Payroll team to ensure accurate processing of shadow payroll;
- Responsible for data entry in ADP WFN;
- Reconcile payroll output to supporting documentation to ensure all domestic payrolls are correct and obtain proper internal authorization;
- Review and reconcile payroll journal entries to ensure payroll is properly recorded to the general ledger;
- Process payroll amendments for repayments and provide journal entries;
- Review and reconcile cash entries with Finance team;
- Assist with year end compliance and reporting;
- Review payroll processes and procedures; make changes as needed while ensuring adequate controls are in place and followed; recommend improvements;
- Thoroughly document procedures - to ensure steps are completed when processing -payroll;
- Respond to auditing and regulatory inquiries as it relates to Payroll questions/documents, including 401(k) audit and Workers’ Compensation audit;
- Stay abreast of changes in tax and compliance regulations applicable to employees/employers and assess impact to the payroll processes;
- Answer all employee queries related to payroll;
- Support the Benefits Manager in administering all employee benefits programs including enrollments and terminations;
- Answer all employee queries related to benefits.
Qualifications
PJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma of Payroll Management or an equivalent level of knowledge in a relevant field;
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration;
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
- Excellent organisation skills with a high level of attention to detail;
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and process a high volume of work while maintaining the highest standards;
- Ability to analyse and resolve payroll issues;
- Willingness to proactively identify issues and recommend solutions;
- Ability to work independently as well as a desire to work in a team environment;
- Appetite to learn and a willingness to get involved in developing professional experience with all aspects of payroll and benefit processes and ad hoc projects;
- Demonstration of a high level of integrity, accountability and professionalism;
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment;
- ADP WFN knowledge required;
- Broad Workday knowledge preferred;

Expected annualized base salary of $85,000 to $100,000.
This range represents the low and high ends of the expected annualized base salary for this position. The specific base salary received by any employee will be informed by a number of factors, including but not limited to, role level and scope, location, candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills and experience.
Base salary is one component of PJT Partners’ compensation structure. In addition to base salary, PJT Partners’ compensation structure may include additional rewards, incentives and benefits, including but not limited to, a discretionary bonus component.
