Exciting opportunity available at a new restaurant opening in southern Rhode Island. We are seeking a full time executive chef to join our team in our newly renovated space located in thriving downtown Westerly. Seeking a creative individual with strong attention to detail to lead our BOH team. We are an upscale casual restaurant describing ourselves as "French inspired coastal cuisine with a southern flair". We are looking for a hardworking, driven, and creative person to collaborate with on menu ideas and all other aspects of food service.
Responsibilities include:
Leading BOH team members and optimizing staff productivity
Overseeing hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of BOH team
Ensuring proper cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas
Ensuring proper equipment operation and maintenance
Maintaining food cost and labor cost controls
Ordering food/supplies and keeping inventory
Maintaining food and recipe quality controls inline with consistency expectations
Overseeing daily food preparation in adherence to food safety standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree encouraged
Rhode Island Food Safety Manager certified
At least 2 years restaurant experience as chef/sous chef in similar restaurant setting
Strong management, leadership, and communication skills
