Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Scheduler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient production processes by coordinating and optimizing scheduling activities. This position requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, collaborating across departments to meet production targets, inventory control, and production planning to meet customer demands while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.
Duties
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with various departments including manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory management to ensure alignment of production goals.
- Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to manage materials and resources effectively.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand or production capacity.
- Analyze data to identify trends in production efficiency and recommend improvements.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, production output, and scheduling changes.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding scheduling updates and potential issues.
- Plan for efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and materials to meet production goals.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
- Analyze production data and identify trends or areas for improvement.
- Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, lead time, and delivery performance.
- Ensure that production activities comply with safety and quality standards.
- Identify and resolve issues that may impact production or product quality.
Experience
- Proven experience in production scheduling or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with supply chain management concepts and practices.
- Proficiency in using SAP or similar ERP systems for inventory management and production planning.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data for decision-making purposes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, enabling effective multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Familiarity with production planning on large BOM assemblies on multiple product lines.
