Summary
Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the qualified candidate will be responsible for various aspects of the payroll function for hourly employees.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00PM (Hybrid, 3 days a week in the office, 2 days from home)
Pay Rate:: $55,000
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain payroll information by adhering to the established controls & processes, overseeing the collection, calculation, and entering of payroll data.
- Comfortable working with a proprietary time and attendance software which ultimately feeds our UKG payroll software.
- Oversee wage garnishment process performed by offshore team.
- Process monthly “Living Our Core” bonus checks to recognized employees.
- Bi-weekly transmission/reconciliation of 401(k) files to our administrator.
- Monitor the general payroll voicemail and address issues accordingly.
- Pay employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts for the company’s weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles.
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Assist with department-wide special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- 1 -2 years of experience in a payroll function – payroll for a large number of hourly employees (at least 2,500 employees) – preferably in the service industry
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish fluency)
- Experience using large payroll software solutions such as UKG (Ultipro), ADP, Paychex or other software solutions
- Problem solving skills
- Proficient at MS Office (especially Excel)
- Team player, highly organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment including working overtime hours as necessary
