Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources and Payroll Manager to join our team. This role combines responsibilities across human resources, payroll processing, and accounting functions to support the organization’s daily operations. The ideal candidate is a multitasker with excellent communication skills, and has demonstrated experience within the payroll and human resource functional area. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources:
- Process applications, conduct informal interviews, and onboard new employees.
- Maintain and update employee records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support employee relations by addressing inquiries and resolving minor issues.
- Track employee attendance, vacation, and leave balances.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Coordinate employee training sessions and safety training videos.
Payroll:
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Verify timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
- Handle payroll deductions, benefits, and garnishments as required.
- Generate payroll reports for management review.
- Track 401k entrance dates and collect necessary paperwork.
Accounting:
- Accounts Payable – Match invoices to receiving, enter invoices, process weekly check run, audit vendor statements to ERP system.
- Accounts Receivable – print order paperwork, maintain web-based EDI documents, print invoices (mail as necessary), post check deposits.
- Orders - E-mail customers delivery notices, print delivery paperwork, verify pricing.
- Assist with general office tasks to include answering the phone, greeting visitors, and light office cleaning (shared responsibility).
- Assist with audits and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in human resources & payroll with the ability to perform basic accounting functions.
- Proficiency in payroll software (Paylocity experience a plus) and accounting software (QuickBooks experience a plus).
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and payroll regulations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience running a small company human resource and payroll function.
- Experience with Paylocity and ADP 401k.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other data management tools.
Work Environment:
This position is an “in person” office environment. Work days are Monday through Friday from 8 am until 4:30 pm. Additional hours may be required during peak spring season (April-June).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
