Pay Range (national) : $29.33 - 36.06 / hour USD.

OUR NEED

We are searching for a gifted and experienced Grant Writer who will play a key role in the fundraising function of Plant With Purpose. As a contributor to the Development Operations team, your primary objective will be to research and craft compelling grant proposals, reports, and other documentation that effectively and timely communicate the goals and needs of Plant With Purpose to our funding partners. Additionally, you may offer strategic advice to members of our fundraising team who are cultivating relationships with foundations and other donors. You must possess a strong understanding of program operations, be capable of maintaining grant systems, and excel at project management and cross-departmental communication.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Writing

Write and edit proposals, letters of inquiry, concept notes, RFPs, and other necessary pieces for current and new funders, including high-net worth and impact-focused foundations.
Write compelling and accurate reports and assist with due diligence processes as requested by funders and fundraisers.
Compellingly articulate the mission, vision, and ministry to which God has called Plant With Purpose, in language directed to various audiences.
Demonstrate a passion for and familiarity with each of the areas of Plant With Purpose's mission, including environmental restoration, economic empowerment, and spiritual renewal.
Research, gather, interpret, and / or draft program and financial information needed for the development of grant proposals and all necessary reporting.
Offer strategic advice to fundraisers (Regional Representatives, Director of Development, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Chief Executive Officer, V.P. of Development and Marketing) on ways to pitch Plant With Purpose programs in a manner that will most resonate with unique foundations and target audiences.

Research and Technical Writing

Research new grant opportunities and industry trends.

Partner with the fundraising team, the programs team, and the Chief Operating Officer to write strategic topic papers and internal training resources, as requested.

Assist in writing other Plant With Purpose pieces as needed.

Grants Management

Track deadlines, proposal statuses, exceptions, and other key information within our grants systems.

Maintain accurate and timely records within Plant With Purpose systems (e.g. Salesforce and Grants management systems).

Collaborate with the International Programs Department to stay abreast of program developments and funding needs.

Leadership Responsibilities

Collaborate on Development Operations Team projects as needed (e.g. providing backup for the Stewardship and Data Entry Administrator).

Potentially manage or collaborate with a Grants Team intern.

Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and belonging; and, as a leader, uphold and model Plant With Purpose's Core Values in your behaviors and actions with our local staff, donors, and global partners.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional (1-3 trips per year) domestic or international travel to project sites is possible, but not required. International travel may at times be in difficult and physically arduous conditions

WHAT WE'LL LOVE ABOUT YOU

Minimum Required Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in related field;

3 years experience in non-profit setting;

1 years successful grant writing and compliance experience in a nonprofit environment with a proven record of securing grants from varied sources.

Required Skills

You have a high level of research, writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.

You are highly detail-oriented and can maintain systems for tracking grant deadlines, submissions, applications, works in progress, budgets, grant fulfillment, and reporting deadlines, to ensure that granting organizations expectations align with results.

You have the ability to manage multiple projects and numerous deadlines in parallel.

You have strong project management skills, including time management, organizational skills, and effectively communicating with other team members.

You can engage in organizational-wide technology platforms for project management, team collaboration, task management, internal communications and file sharing, employee engagement, performance development, and expense management. Relevant technology platforms we use organizationally are : Google Workspace, Hive, Jostle, & Salesforce.

You have experience living or working in a developing country or cross-cultural setting.
