Job Type: Part-time
Subjects: Homework Support
Grade: 13-20years old
Location: The Residence School, Bethesda, MD
Job Duties:
- Assist students in targeted subject areas via individual or group tutoring
- Host workshops on selected topics
- Model and encourage collaborative study strategies
- Create and manage resources
- Contribute to a friendly and productive learning environment
- Commute to students' place of residence or meet at a public location to conduct tutoring sessions
- Meet regularly with the supervisor
- Expected hours: 2 – 3 per week
Schedule:
- Tue & Thu - 03:00-04:00pm
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., education, English, mathematics)
- Experience in teaching, tutoring, or education is highly desirable.
- Patience and the ability to work with students of diverse learning styles.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to the needs of individual students.
- Must be able to commit to schedules
- Has a personal vehicle
- Must be living in the area where classes are held
- Experience with students who experienced great trauma, victimization and often have Special Education needs or learning disabilities
License/Certifications
- None required
Salary: $ 30-35 per hour
