With 60-75% travel, this role allows you to work remotely, with visits to the Illinois office and occasional international travel for training. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer with expertise in hydraulics, electrical circuits, PLC systems, and automation. Experience with processing/molding machines is a plus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide field service, maintenance, and warranty repairs for a product line of rubber injection molding machines.
- Perform in-house machine assembly and retrofitting projects.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
- Maintain accurate service records, including repair orders, warranty, and customer documentation.
- Train customer staff on machine operation and preventive maintenance.
- Assist in identifying customer needs to generate additional service or parts revenue.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical assemblies, hydraulic systems, and disassemble large components for diagnostics.
- Experience reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of servo hydraulic systems and PLC-based control systems.
- Must be able to travel 60-75% of the time, including occasional international trips.
