What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Play and Prep Preschool?
Play and Prep Preschool is looking to hire a Lead Teacher for a 2-3 year old class for the 2025-26 school year.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility required;
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain;
- current background check available or must complete prior to hire;
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential obtained or CDA in process required or Associate’s Degree in ECE or Child Development preferred.
Play and Prep Preschool staff must have the ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happens. They must also have the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively.
- Be responsible for the health, safety, and the welfare of all children. This includes helping children to stay warm and dry in inclement weather, managing risk in an outdoor setting, and addressing student conflicts
- Assist with centers and transitions
- Assist in diapering and toileting of students if necessary
- To plan and teach developmentally age appropriate curriculum in alignment with the Ohio Department of Early Childhood education learning standards/Innovations curriculum used as guidance
- Organize lesson plans, which includes the gathering and preparing of materials and resources for the program
- Written lesson plans available for review prior to the date of the lesson and to provide substitute plans when necessary
- Completion of daily and weekly staff duties as outlined in the Staff Handbook
- Supervise assistant teacher or student teachers in performing their duties
- To attend professional meetings/in-services/workshops concerned with the education of young children; Trainings at least 10 hours every year.
- All staff are to be background checked and be trained in CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse.
