What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position at Playworks Center for Development and Learning, Inc.?
We are looking for a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our practice in downtown Redlands. This a part-time position with the potential for full-time work and benefits.
Playworks is a therapist-owned private practice established in 1996. We provide assessment, intervention, and consultative services to families of young children (infancy through elementary school age) with complex communicative disorders. Most of our new referrals are for toddlers and preschoolers who are minimally verbal and/or have poor speech intelligibility. Clinical staff are in areas including speech-language pathology and occupational therapy.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree and SLPA license. We prefer ASHA certification. The candidate should have a child development background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage children. The person must be organized, reliable, creative, and sincerely interested in learning. Most importantly, we are seeking the right combination of intellect, heart, and talent…someone who genuinely wants to play a role in changing lives.
One of the strengths of this practice is the stability of relationships established with staff and clients. We are not looking for applicants who change jobs on an annual (or more frequent) basis, therapists looking for “summer-only” positions, adult therapists, or staffing agencies. We want to invest our time in someone who can be mentored.
Qualified applicants are requested to submit a letter of interest and resume with three references and an expected salary range to Kelli Wilms, M.S., CCC-SLP.
