Job Summary :
This position is responsible for working in partnership with POIC and Rosemary Anderson High School's community-based programs to address barriers youth and young adults face to employment and educational attainment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties :
- Builds professional relationships with participants and supports them in addressing barriers to employment and educational achievement. Engages participants in an in-depth goal setting and monitoring process.
- Develops monthly and annual goals and strategies, monitor progress, and report on outcomes.
- Coordinates the functions of the program including budget, contracts, and participant needs.
Job Duties :
Meets regularly with participants to implement individualized plans to achieve short and long-term goals.Tracks the activity of participants according to program and grant needs.Serves as professional mentor, coach, and advocate for both participants and program staff.Empowers participants to inform program design and model to ensure youth voice in services.Collaborates with WorkSource Portland Metro to engage participants in services and provide participants with access to workforce development resources.Ensures documentation of all participant interactions, progress, participation, and data in workforce development specific database system daily.Maintains detailed, organized, and updated files (paper and digital), in compliance with local and federal government contractors.Prepares for quarterly program and file audits.Develops unique intervention strategies to engage and inspire youth and families.Works collaboratively in a multicultural environment with people from diverse backgrounds.Keeps meticulous case notes to reflect all services provided, employment and education placement, training milestones, credits earned, skills gained, and other accomplishments.Tracks and reports on participant outcomes based on various contracts.Plans and facilitates lessons on work readiness, employment and life skills, and career exploration and pathways.Develops culturally responsive, innovative, and engaging curriculum designed to build employability and life skills of participants.Researches promising practices of youth engagement, workforce training, and approaches to alleviating poverty in low income communities to ensure program model is dynamic and responsive to participant needs.Leads the organization and programming of the assigned WOT Center to best reach pre-apprenticeship program participants, NextGen participants, and RAHS student / school needs.Experience / Education :
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience working with youth / young adults in a school or community-based setting.Experience in workforce development, youth employment, and youth development programming, preferred.Familiarity with trauma informed practice and strength-based approaches to working with participants, preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research. Knowledge of the construction industry preferred.Supervisory Responsibilities :
Directly supervises Career Coaches and other staff / volunteers at the assigned WOT Center. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Salary : $56,700 - $59,850
