Summary: The Project Management Manager leads a team of project managers and is responsible for
the successful execution of strategic projects across the organization. This role ensures projects are
delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while aligning with organizational priorities and
stakeholder expectations. The Manager also supports the development and standardization of project
management practices and tools.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
· Manage, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, ensuring alignment with
departmental goals and performance standards.
· Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, provide feedback, and support career development plans.
· Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
Project Oversight & Delivery
· Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent projects across
departments or business units.
· Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting quality
standards.
· Drive accountability and proactive issue resolution among project teams and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
· Serve as the primary point of contact for key internal and external stakeholders throughout
the project lifecycle.
· Lead project kickoff meetings, regular status updates, and executive briefings.
· Translate complex project updates into clear, actionable information for a variety of
audiences.
Project Governance & Risk Management
· Establish and enforce project management standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
· Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring risk registers, escalation plans, and contingency
measures are in place.
· Conduct post-project reviews and lessons-learned sessions to drive continuous improvement.
Portfolio & Resource Management ·
Support portfolio-level planning, prioritization, and resource allocation in alignment with organizational strategy. · Monitor resource capacity and project interdependencies to optimize execution.
· Report on portfolio health, project status, KPIs, and delivery metrics.
Process Improvement & Standardization
· Develop, refine, and promote project management methodologies, tools, and templates.
· Champion process efficiencies, standard operating procedures, and automation opportunities.
· Drive adoption of project management best practices across teams and departments.
Change Management & Organizational Readiness
· Partner with change management teams or lead change initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new processes or systems.
· Assess change impacts and support communication, training, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
· Measure and monitor the success of change efforts to ensure sustainable outcomes.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field.
· 5–7 years of progressive project management experience, including 2 years in a
leadership or people management role.
Required Skill/Abilities:
· Proven track record of managing complex projects with cross-functional teams.
· Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
· Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Smartsheet, Jira).
· Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Supervisory Requirements
· This position will have 2-4 direct reports and will maintain a dotted line relationship with MCG
operating companies.
· Manage and mentor the project management team fostering a culture of continuous
improvement and professional development.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
· FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements
and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends
or holidays)
· This role will work in an office setting, however frequent visits to the production floor are
required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards and engage in staff.
o Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking,
standing, and climbing stairs.
o Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or
controls.
o Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should
be done following OSHA standards.
o Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to
navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
o Protective Equipment: Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as
required, including safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toed boots.
