Pontoon Staff LLC is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Senior Environmental Specialist/Asbestos Investigator.
About the Role
This position requires a strong background in environmental science and regulations, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.
Key Tasks:
- Investigate and sample suspected hazardous materials, documenting findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with project managers to oversee asbestos abatement projects and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Analyze data and develop plans for safe and effective remediation, utilizing expertise in architectural and mechanical drawings.
- Meet deadlines and work efficiently in various environments, from offices to job sites.
- Adhere to safety protocols, wearing necessary protective gear when dealing with hazardous substances.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Holds current NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator license and NYS Asbestos Inspector certification.
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrates at least 3 years of experience in asbestos inspections/investigations, understanding relevant state and city regulations.
- Is proficient in common software applications, such as Microsoft Office.
- Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Has obtained OSHA 10-hr. and OSHA 30-hr. Construction Safety certifications.
- Certifications in NYSDOL Project Monitor, Designer, Mold Assessor, and EPA Lead Inspector are advantageous.
- Knowledge of CAD systems is also beneficial.
