Business/Real Estate Attorney

Porter, Rogers, Dahlman, & Gordon, P.C. is a full-service law firm which strives to ensure that every client feels heard, respected, and valued as we work to secure them a favorable outcome. We are currently seeking a Business/Real Estate Attorney to join the team in our Corpus Christi, TX office. This position is on site.

Compensation flexible based on business generation of the attorney to support his or her practice.

Role Description:

The ideal candidate will be a Business/Real Estate Attorney with a minimum of 7 years of experience handling a diverse array of transactional matters and able to handle existing and new matters that come to PRDG. The role involves serving as the lead attorney handling all aspects of real estate and other commercial business transactions including purchase and sale agreements, business structuring and formation, document preparation, and negotiations. To be successful, the candidate should possess skills and attributes necessary to work within a team, think independently, and have personal skills to interface with clients, opposing counsel and the judiciary is necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and documents pertaining to business and/or real estate transactions and disputes
• Due diligence in acquisitions, mergers, title, zoning, and/or environmental issues
• Negotiate on behalf of clients
• Provide strategic legal guidance and solutions to clients
• Manage transactions from initiation through closing
• Develop and review agreements with stakeholders, investors, sellers, purchasers, and joint ventures
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and contracts affecting real estate development, construction, entity formation, and entity governance
• Provide legal advice on risk management strategies, contract enforcement, and dispute resolution
• Conduct legal research and stay informed of industry changes and evolving laws that impact the real estate and business sector
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients

Minimum Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D) degree.
• Admission to the Texas State Bar.
• 7 years’ experience in real estate and/or business law
• Board certification in Commercial Real Estate Law, Residential Real Estate, Farm and Ranch Real Estate Law, Construction Law, and/or Property Owners Association Law preferred, not required
• Must have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paces, deadline driven environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in legal research and writing.
