*CPR/AED Certification is PREFERRED, not required*
Are you interested in learning more about pottery? Do you have experience working with children aged 6-16? If so, this job might be for you! Portland Pottery is looking to hire friendly and energetic Counselors for our Summer Youth Program. This program runs for 11 weeks over summer, from mid June to late August. We teach our students how to throw on the wheel, hand build, glaze, and create a variety of other arts and craft.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children in various activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Assist in planning and implementing daily programs and events tailored to the interests and needs of students.
- Provide support in behavior management and conflict resolution among students.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere, fostering teamwork and cooperation.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including first aid readiness and emergency procedures.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding camper progress and any concerns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a camp or childcare setting
- Strong classroom management skills
- Certification in first aid and CPR
- Ability to engage and manage behavior in diverse groups
