Position Overview:

As an employee in the Tool Room, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and management of tools, dies, and fixtures used in manufacturing operations. Your role involves ensuring that tools are in optimal condition to support production efficiency and quality standards.

Tool Room Supervisor

Specific Duties:

  • Maintain, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Sharpen and recondition tooling as necessary to maintain precision and performance.
  • Inspect tools for defects, wear, and damage; troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to address tooling requirements and improvements.
  • Fabricate or modify tools and components using machine tools and precision equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols in all tool room activities.
  • Train and mentor apprentices in tool room operations.

Experience, Skills, Education Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in tool and die making or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a tool room technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools (e.g., lathes, grinders, milling machines).
  • Strong knowledge of tooling materials, cutting speeds, feeds, and machining techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to tooling and machining.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
