POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a candidate who has a knack for development work, a passion for arts nonprofits and a desire to be part of a vibrant arts community. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the CEO for planning, organizing, and directing all of Pottawattamie Arts, Culture and Entertainment (PACE) fundraising including, grant writing, report writing, major gifts, sponsorships, annual giving, planned giving, memberships, special events and capital campaigns.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the CEO to create an annual fundraising plan.
- Oversee the grant process from identifying and qualifying prospects, to writing proposals and reports, to collecting data,creating budgets and all relevant documents, to submission.
- Work with the CEO to grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors.
- Work with the CEO to build the planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequest expectancies.
- Direct the annual program sponsorship campaign, including mailings. Work with marketing to ensure that sponsorshipopportunities and acknowledgements are integrated into overall marketing campaigns.
- Direct the annual year end fundraising campaign, including mailings.
- Direct the annual Giving Tuesday campaign. Work with marketing to ensure that donation solicitation is integrated into overallmarketing campaigns.
- Direct the membership campaign, including mailings. Work with marketing to ensure that membership solicitation is integratedinto overall marketing campaigns.
- Assist with strategies, programs and tracking of benefits to stimulate member engagement as a means of membershiprecruitment and renewal.
- Assist with processing, tracking, invoicing and reconciling grant payments, donations, memberships, and pledge payments.
- Coordinate fundraising special events with the CEO, Event Director, Event Chairs, and volunteer committees.
- Create development reports and updates for the Board of Directors.
- Work with the CEO and Board Governance Committee to identify new board prospects.
- Make public appearances to share information about PACE programs and/or acknowledge donors for their support.
- Attend PACE events as an opportunity to interact with donors and members.
- Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems.
- Oversee creation of materials to support fundraising activities.
- Maintain gift recognition programs.
- May supervise fundraising/development staff and volunteers as needed.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 5 years successful experience in non-profit fundraising, sales or similar experience.
- 3 years of managerial experience preferably with a fundraising or sales team.
- Proven success in writing grant proposals, asking for and closing donations, and building and maintaining long-termrelationships with foundations and donors.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable. Proven ability to prioritize a large workload and meet deadlines with or withoutsupervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to listen to and balance, negotiate and work witha variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- A consummate team player with a collaborative approach who can empower staff and teammates to contribute their best.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for word processing, emailing, creating presentations andspreadsheets.
- Ability to work nights and weekends when needed, to facilitate donor interactions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $79,000.00 per year
