EXEMPT PART-TIME SEASONAL (ON OR ABOUT 11/1)
POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
To design and execute memorable events that enhance the guests' experience and drive resort visitation and revenue. Plan and oversee a diverse range of events, including on-hill, at the base lodge, and off-site. Work closely with various departments to ensure seamless execution, manage event logistics, and deliver exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Design, plan, and execute a variety of events.
• Develop event timelines, coordinate with vendors/departments, and manage on-site logistics to ensure flawless execution.
• Ensure all departments are informed and prepared for event requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and guests.
• Work with the marketing team to promote events through various channels, including social media, email campaigns, and resort website.
• Develop strategies to attract guests and increase event attendance.
• Provide exceptional service and address any concerns or special requests.
• Ensure all events meet or exceed guest expectations.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback, assess outcomes, and identify areas for improvement.
• Use insights to enhance future events and overall guest satisfaction.
• Develop and manage event budgets, negotiate contracts with vendors, and track expenses to ensure events are executed within financial parameters.
• Responsible for revenue control for all event products.
• Assure compliance with established company safety procedures and employee policies.
• Communicate goals and objectives.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
CUSTOMER SERVICE/GUEST RELATIONS:
Key public interaction position. Develop and maintain positive public perception of the department/company. Must have the ability to inspire, train, develop and instill a guest service attitude in all employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills
- Experience in event planning and coordination, preferably within a resort or hospitality setting.
- Strong communication ability (both written and verbal).
- Must be able to function with minimum supervision.
- Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures, and to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgment, while remaining calm under pressure.
- Superior interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform in a stressful, noisy and/or crowded environment.
- Ability to maintain an orderly and professional work area.
- Basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office products and company systems.
- Detail oriented and strong organization skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong guest and employee relations.
- Passion for winter sports and the ski industry is a plus.
Education/Certification
High school education required, college preferred.
Experience
1-2 years event planning/coordinating, preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Will work alone or with others. Must navigate deep snow, icy, uneven and rocky terrain around resort.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment dealing with the general public. Must be able to ski or snowboard for on-hill events. Must be physically capable of ascending and descending stairs, and to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, lift at least 30 lbs., negotiate slippery surfaces, uneven and rocky terrain, and tolerate colder temperatures.
ATTENDANCE:
This position requires the ability to maintain flexibility in a work schedule, which will include weekends and holidays. Resort is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, 7 days a week during ski season.
