What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Technician position at Power Credit Union?

  • Skills and Qualifications -
  • Perform desktop hardware setup, installation and configuration of operating system, new releases and upgrades.
  • Respond to end user support issues and manage them through an electronic ticketing system
  • Patch and remediate operating system’s and software
  • Monitor IT system alerts
  • Manage servers, cloud-based and wireless networks
  • Maintain and upgrade all hardware and software related to the credit union’s system
  • Ensure all security and back-up redundancies are in place
  • Purchase, install and maintain all technology related items
  • Serve as a liaison with outside vendors including the data processing center
  • Knowledge of operational characteristics of a variety of computer platforms, networks, software applications and operating systems.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques used in the installation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of PCs, servers, peripherals, and network-related hardware, software, and information security.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of customer service and of providing user assistance.
  • Skill and ability to recommend, implement, install, maintain, and troubleshoot appropriate technology to meet client needs.
  • Skill and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Competency and proficiency in Windows client operating systems. This includes the ability to troubleshoot problems, find the source of the problem, and implement the fix.
  • Competency and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Well-organized and able to work well with non-technical staff.

Education/Experience/Certifications:

Associate’s Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field. Certifications and/or experience may be substituted for Associate’s Degree. (CompTIA A )

Two years’ experience in a help desk environment, both via telephone and in person.

Valid driver’s license and transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
