Responsibilities
- Assist in measuring, cutting, bending, and assembling sheet metal components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery to manipulate metal materials.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring work areas remain clean and organized.
- Support sheet metal department with metal panels and structural components.
- Follow blueprints, work orders, and safety guidelines to complete tasks efficiently.
- Operate equipment such as shears, brakes, and rollers under supervision.
- Help with installation and fastening of sheet metal using screws, bolts, rivets, and welding techniques.
- Perform basic grinding, sanding, and polishing of metal surfaces.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following company and OSHA safety standards.
Skills
- Prior experience in metal fabrication, construction, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or schematics.
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive tasks precisely.
