What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Powertrain Rockford Inc?
Role Purpose:
Integral Shared Service Center (SSC) Accounts Payable team member to ensure invoices are accurately reconciled through the three way match process and resolve discrepancies on a timely manner to mitigate delinquent payments.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and process invoices and statements by mail, email or via fax
Ensure invoices meet the three way match criteria before payment is processed
Accurately sort, code and match invoices
Responsible for investigating and verifying accuracy of invoice data to mitigate variances
Responsible for investigating complaints by vendors and correct errors in accounts in a timely manner
Maintain close relationship with Shared Service Site to resolve discrepancies and process timely payments based on plant requirements
Prepare and disburse vendor payments by check runs and electronic payments
Maintain vendor files and invoices
Assist local site Controller with monthly payment forecast and meet targets
Assist with month end closing process as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent related course and/or three years of related experience
Knowledge of Three-Way-Match and ability to resolve discrepancies
Ability to problem solve and excel in a team environment (Shared Service Center)
Strong communication skills and ability to organize and prioritize
Competent in computer software such as Excel, Word and Outlook
Additional Information: Team member of AP shared service.
