We're currently seeking a Help Desk Technician. Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to work onsite in Frankfort, KY during third shift (Sunday through Wednesday 12:30am – 11:00am EDT).

We’re hiring a Help Desk Technician for our client’s Tier 1 Help Desk in Frankfort, KY. This role provides phone and remote IT support for law enforcement, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in a 24/7/365 environment. The position requires onsite work during the third shift, with daytime training for the first month.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for help desk calls, creating tickets for IT issues.
- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, Mobile Data Terminals, in-car video recorders, printers, and network connectivity.
- Use remote tools to resolve hardware and software problems.
- Collect data and create tickets for Tier 2 support teams.
- Support the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Kentucky network.
- Monitor production systems and perform standard help desk tasks.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the agency.
Schedule
- Permanent Shift: Third Shift, Sunday–Wednesday, 12:30 AM–11:00 AM EDT.
- Training Period: First month on dayshift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.
- Shift Flexibility: Occasional temporary shift changes may occur (coordinated in advance).
- Shift Opportunities: Other shifts may become available based on seniority.
Preferred Qualifications
- Moderate computer and software troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a team and remain professional under pressure.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to learn and retain new information through training.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and work onsite in Frankfort, KY.
- Pass a fingerprint-based background check via Kentucky State Police (IdentGO).
- Obtain CJIS certification (training and testing provided).
