What are the responsibilities and job description for the Application Developer Specialist II position at PPG Industries?
The Application Developer Specialist II will be a member of the Aerospace IT team responsible for participating in application development, maintenance, and enhancement IT projects, primarily as they relate to the QAD ERP system although other systems may be included in scope. Aerospace is a global business unit comprised of Transparencies, Coatings, Sealants, and Packaging platforms supporting a base of 2000 users. The incumbent will support projects at all global Aerospace locations.
Key Responsibilities
- QAD ERP Configuration & Implementation work focuses on programming and configuration of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application that is integrated with business processes/data and IT infrastructure (i.e., an “application system”)
- Building and developing application tables/panels/reports, and coding individual modules and complex functions for a client/server enterprise application
- Integrating software, developing external interfaces, and maintaining technical documentation
- Designing and developing most aspects of data conversion
- Troubleshooting and resolving testing issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems analysis, design, development, and implementation
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with QAD ERP system
- Extensive analytical abilities and technical skills to isolate problems, fix immediate needs, analyze all ramifications, and implement complete solutions.
