What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Sanitation Technician position at Prairie Aquatech?
Prairie AquaTech Manufacturing is based in Volga, South Dakota. We are improving animal health and nutrition by providing high quality fed ingredients. Using patent-pending technologies licensed on a worldwide, exclusive basis from South Dakota State University and developed internally, the Company is upgrading soybean meal to high quality ingredients used in aquaculture and other animal feeds. Our company is currently experiencing rapid growth and we are seeking a full-time Facilities Sanitation Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead sanitation efforts in and around the facility in a variety of capacities
- Responsible for completion of routine sanitation and preventive maintenance procedures and associated documentation
- Perform semi-skilled and skilled work in several areas of the building and grounds
- Ensure appropriate safety measures are taken at every step of the sanitation process
- Develop and maintain an accurate bench stock and consumables inventory
- Anticipate, predict, record and report facility and grounds sanitation and maintenance issues
- Assist in quality inspections of facilities and grounds based on schedule
- Become trained and knowledgeable regarding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP guidelines
- Ensure facility efficiency and workplace safety by adhering to company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years' experience in a maintenance and/or sanitation field
- Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience in a regulated animal feed or food production facility desirable
- Willingness to learn and keen attention to detail
- Ability to work independently to complete required tasks in an efficient manner
