What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tribal Development Program Coordinator position at PRAIRIE BAND POTAWATOMI ENTERTAINMENT CORP?
The Tribal Development Program Coordinator coordinates and implements the PBCR Tribal Development program; to include the leadership program and other initiatives as assigned. Specifically, this position facilitates and monitors individual development plans, assesses training needs, and provides career development advisement for prospective, current, and former Tribal member Team Members who are participating in the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Coordinates the implementation of the PBCR Tribal Leadership Development program, and solicitation of potential candidates for participation in the program from Directors, the General Manager or PBCR Board members.
- Interviews and recommends the selection of Tribal interns, facilitates the overall intern program.
- Compiles information on potential participants in the PBCR Tribal Leadership Development program, and provides recommendations to the PBCR Board for their consideration.
- Monitors annual progress reports on current participants in the program, and submits periodic updates to the PBCR Board of Directors and PBCR Executive Team.
- Recruits, interviews, and assists in employing eligible Tribal preference individuals.
- Identifies potential mentors for participation in the PBCR Tribal Leadership Development program, and solicits their involvement in the program, as appropriate.
- Conducts training/development audits to provide formal feedback about Tribal Development initiatives on a regular basis.
- Creates analysis, program design, and cost/benefit assessment on overall development program.
- Counsels and coaches Tribal Team Members to identify individual goals and develop competencies.
- Coordinates the scheduling of all Tribal events, development plan meetings and/or trainings.
- Individualizes career development tracks for participants, with emphasis on Tribal development.
- Maintains current and accurate records in the computer database for Tribal Team Members, showing attendance and successful completion of all training.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
- Presents an exceptional personal appearance and behavior, reflecting the image of the Property and the Human Resources Department.
- Ensures Director is aware of and advised of the status of any outstanding Human Resources issues and projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
- Four years’ administration or project management experience
- A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
- The ability to maintain an established work schedule and provide on-call assistance, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Effective use of organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet software.
- Computer-related problem-solving skills through the use of available trainings and help desk.
- Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An additional 4 years of gaming experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino and be able lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including phones, personal computers, fax machines, and photo copiers
- Must be able to work at a fast pace in stressful situations and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
